We developed a lot more upon our crime drama idea. Sam and I chose a non linear narrative so as to over dramatise a realistic event, and our decision was solidified with the results of the Survey Monkey. It also follows the conventions of crime dramas by ending with the reveal of the killer, primarily as this is the enigma that keeps the audience hooked on the storyline right until the end. We took a spin on the classic storyline of a police officer working towards finding the killer, as it's only a short film and we felt it would be more interesting for an audience to instead view the story from the victim's perspective.
The choice to add in a serial killer was a recent choice, as for ages I was stuck on what 'the point' would be of our film.
