Distribution company logo: Kernow Distributions
Production company logo: Price Productions
The distribution company logo idea changed numerous times but we finally settled for a fairly simple, yet effective design. It's in bold, large text making it easy for the audience to read and the use of the camera makes it clear what the company is, as well as the use of the word "Distributions." The use of the word "Kernow" represents our Cornish audience, and follows Benedict Anderson's theory (1983) that argues the idea that the media play a vital role in constructing a national/regional identity a in reality the nation if too big for everyone to know each other yet they often have shared values; "The unification of people in the modern world is achieved not by military but by cultural means, in particular the media system enables people (of a nation or region) to feel part of a coherent, meaningful and homogenous community." The ambient beach sounds and beach footage represent our audience living in a coastal area, as it'll remind them of home.
For the production company the initial idea changed as during post production we realised it should be animated to look more appealing. When searching for free downloadable videos online of a film reel I decided that I preferred that clip, rather than a rolling film reel. The font used is clear and easily read, and the use of the film theme very clearly connotes what the company is in relation to. The use of the word "Productions" also straight away lets people know the intentions of the company.
